Mackenzie Marcinew - Geologist


Mackenzie holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Alberta and is currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Calgary. He has experience as an Exploration Geologist in Calgary and as a Wellsite Geologist in Saskatchewan. This diverse experience makes him a valuable asset to NRG.


City of Calgary Water Resources - 2016

As a business management intern, Mackenzie helped to evaluate City of Calgary projects using a triple bottom line analysis. He also helped to develop and implement stage gating with the City of Calgary and built the city's stage gating website. 

Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. - 2014-2015

As a contract project Geologist (GIT) at CNRL, Mackenzie evaluated the Cummings Formation in Saskatchewan for potential heavy oil production prospects.

Steeptech Exploration Ltd. - 2014

As a contract wellsite Geologist, Mackenzie drilled horizontal heavy oil producing wells in the Viking Formation in Saskatchewan.

Athabasca Oil Corporation - 2012-2014

As a Geology Summer Student intern, Mackenzie evaluated the caprock integrity of the Athabasca Oil Corporation Hangingstone heavy oil project.
